I don't know about where you are at, of course, but here, there has been a lot of fireworks set off by people. Seems some might own some of those fireworks sales stores. Also, people were warned against discharging firearms to celebrate. But, of course, as you well realize, there are some that just ignore such warnings. Consequently , several homes and cars were reported shot up, several people wounded and several arrested. It puzzles people whether this was done 'accidentally' or intentionally.
As a favorite NBC commentator used to say: "and so it goes".

Some people amaze me. I just can't imagine why they just decide to shoot a place up. It will be blamed on the alcohol and drugs. But I can honestly say, by the time I have ever gotten drunk or stoned enough to be that out of my mind, I was passed out. I'll never buy the "I was drunk and didn't know what I was doing" defence. They did know what they were doing, and they knew it was wrong, and how wrong it was, they were just too drunk to care.
