Congrats Jim Rice!! Finally making the Hall of Fame...In the last year of his eligability...It should have happened a looooong time ago!! I met him and Freddie Lynn (the other half of the Gold Dust Twins) back in 1975-ish, at the Star Market in Newton Corner...They both signed my toe-to-knee cast...Now I could kick myself for not keeping it (at the time I could not see past the grudge I held against it, nor the stink) He was and is a truely nice person...And just think...No asterisk! Just had to get that out there...Thanks!

Hi Pete! Jim Rice is a really nice guy. He lives in my neighborhood, behind my back yard, actually. Couldn't ask for a nicer, friendlier guy... but, man alive, did he bitch and moan about this or what, lol. I'm glad he made-I was sick of hearing about it, haha! I think my town is having a shin-dig for him, at least that's the word going around town and it's a small town.

I guess I caught some of the B&W, just chose to ignore it...I don't pay that much attention to the news/hype surrounding the game, just the game itself. Also I guess I never understood why he wasn't picked much much sooner...Well, regardless, it is a done deal, and I for one am elated!
