Re: Mums And Choice
Anyway, back to my mini rant -
I still maintain that if a couple decide they want to have children, then fine, but as with all things, finance it between you!
You kids are no benefit to me personally, and more than it would benefit you personally if part of your tax were used to feed and care for my dogs.
I would love to have six dogs and a larger house, if I could.
I cannot afford it, therefore, I make do with what I have.
Too many people have babies without thinking it through.

When one sees a pretty face with a dazzling smile such as yours, one does not notice anything else. There is nothing dishonerable or wrong with the aquired mess of ones job, it could also be considered a badge of honor and shows that you are gainhfully employed as there are many that won't work.

Re: Mums And Choice
Also...
Parents should be more responsible for their kids, at least up until 16.
Heck, if you let yer dogs roam the streets, biting people, and being a public pest, they would soon be rounded up, and if you were the owner, you would stand the chance of having the animal PTS.
Now, I am not suggesting that we euthenise teen brats, up to no good, although in some cases it might not be a bad idea
But why should everyone have their peace or life bothered by the spawn of someone who doesn't even know what their own kid is up to?
Maybe we should be able to shoot such kids on sight?

Re: Mums And Choice
Just making the comparison.
People don't NEED to have kids.
They don't NEED to have dogs either.
But I would defend their right to have them, as long as neither are being a public nuisance, that is all I am saying.

Well, I personally wouldn't post a private message in public or share a PM with anyone, because it is meant to be confidential, but if you think sharing this particular PM would help you, it is ok with me.xshivx wrote:I did thanks ever so much hun i tried to write bk but dont know if i did it write lol i can send u it in here if u like?
Do you not know how to use the PM feature? If you need help PMing, go to the link below, and I will walk you through it. That way we won't tie up this thread with the details of how to PM.
So xs, here is where to get help with any problem:

I disagree. People NEED to have kids. That's the purpose of life. Also, some people NEED to have dogs (or whatever pet suits them). Very common among the elderly, as they need the feeling of nurturing once their needed children have left the home. The nurturing nature of people doesn't stop once the children are grown and on their own. There are exceptions, of course, but humans in general have this primal instinct to procreate. Anything else in life falls a distant second.

I meant 'need' as in to do without it would cause death.

Actually, it would. If not for this "NEED", we would not have evolved/developed into what we are, or would not continue if it ceased. The need is primal. It is the most basic instinct to the animal kingdom, of which man is a member. Civilization and other activities are only a by-product of this instinct.

Re: Mums And Choice
We are not in danger of dying off as a species, if that is what you mean. If we were, there might be some justification for paying people to have kids, as we effectively are. Last I looked we were over populated.

That was my point. We have our "civilized rules of law" dictating what is already provided by nature. Our "overpopulation" is a byproduct. If left to ONLY nature, it may not be so. Our competitive nature is also a part of it. If we encourage/ensure the need/right to procreate, and suppress our basic competitive nature, it becomes unbalanced. Nature, except for humans, remains balanced, until humans interfere. We prevent the natural course of balance.

CarolinaHound wrote:I don't know how long it is here, but there is maternity leave. I don't think it goes to a year. Maybe three months, then there has to be a medical reason for any longer. I think it more depends on the company as to how long they allow. But there is a law to protect a woman from just being let go when she has a baby.
I think its three months here in the US. I can't remember its been eight years since my youngest was born. Don't forget the family leave act where the husband can take time off too. I never took advantage of that I lost enough sleep through all those night feedings.
I have two children one 14 and the other 8 so I always tell people I havent' slept in 22 years
In my opinion a woman should be garanteed her job for at least the three month time period she is out on leave. Having a child is a personal choice but it shouldn't be held against the woman for making that choice either.

Two reasons I had a vasectomy eight years ago.
1. I want to sleep again.
2. Two kids is enough for any family (my opinion).
3. 6 billion people already inhabit the earth and the negative effect it has on the earth is more apparent everyday.
ok three reasons.

Lol.
I am not suggesting that ALL women, ALL over the world, cease to have children.
But isn't one or two enough?
Why have more when you cannot financially cope with those that you do have, then expect others to bale you out?
That was my issue.

The only way that it will ever be controled is by making it mandatory for a certain amount of people to become sterile or in othr words --snip snip. And the only way that they could ever get away with doing that would to be doing it at birth.
