MAJOR FAULT LINES
These are the major fault lines in the U.S. A major earthquake could happen there at any time. There are also many other fault lines such as the ones under New Yok city and the seven fault lines under the city of Las Vegas, Nevada itself. I wll try and post as many as I can FYI.
The San Andres Fault Line
The New Madrid Fault LIne with damage areas
Compare the two areas of damage with similar size earth quakes.
Fault lines in and by Oregon and Washington
This also shows the various tetonic plates where slippage can and does occur which is a major cause of earthquakes.

Re: MAJOR FAULT LINES
Well how come we don't have more earthquakes in the East? Or is it just saving up energy to give us the big one? That would figure. The East coast always get's screwed.
Re: MAJOR FAULT LINES
Ever read 'A Short History of Nearly Everything' by Bill Bryson?

OT, check out that map of California. I can't believe the number of cities that are directly on the fault line. Seems crazy to think people would settle there on purpose.

Just watched a program about Yellowstone, thought of you OT.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00jc6p6/Yellowstone_Winter/
Starts off a bit slow, but I liked it. Two more episodes to follow in the next two weeks. (If you're interested).

They won't let us watch it here in the states. Says it's available for view in the UK only.

Don't a bbc url, just a bunch of red "x"'s linked to proky sites and my spyware lite up like a fire cracker saying it was a dangerous site.
Re: MAJOR FAULT LINES
Yeah, firewalls don't like cgi scripts. They are fine though.

Re: MAJOR FAULT LINES
With about a dozen new quakes this year the prediction for Jackson is still for a 7.5 to hit at anytime as we are about 10,000 years over due for one according to the state experts.
