Wow - Check These Out.
I am sure there are women out there who will be looking for that one man in five mill, mentioned in the last one.

Re: Wow - Check These Out.
There's a couple there I think the reaction of the women they may encounter would be just as interesting a picture of the disease itself.

I know, lol.
I am just waiting until one has a look!
Something else though, huh?
I mean, on one hand, we are often afraid of science, when it comes to things like GM food and stem cell research, because of supposed 'dangers' and 'ethics'.
Yet nature itself is capable of 'error'.
Fact.

Fact.
Yup, nature can pull some doosies sometimes.
Re: Wow - Check These Out.
It does.
Which is why we should not be alarmist about work which respected genetic scientists are able to do.
Would mistakes be made? Sure. But if even nature itself makes such terrible 'errors', then we cannot penalise science for doing the same, can we?

Then abandon that, and take a new path.
That is the answer with all things.
Learn from it.

It's easy to figure it out, when you start from the point that there probably is no god.
That is where most believers have a psycholigical conflict, within their own minds. They assume god to be real, yet madness is happening all around them, in whatever form. Therefore, in order to retain their belief, in light of all this madness, they must manufacture an equally unlikely rationale to explain it.
For example, you might ask why, if there are so many suffering and starving, why doesn't god take action, do something constructive about it?
Theists will speak to you all day about their various theories as to why god doesn't get involved.
However, even when you listen to the explainations, you are often left with this nagging feeling of dissatisfaction.
Rather than come at it from the view that god is real, it only starts to make sense when you accept that there probably is no god.
Why does god not do something to aid the starving?
Why does god permit such horrible birth defects?
Simple.
There is probably no god.

Re: Wow - Check These Out.
Going back to those afflicted examples in the OP.
Today is 2008.
Would it be appropriate, in your eyes, if a circus were to come to your town, and such people were the main event?
Sounds objectionable, huh?
What if they chose to be part of it, since the pay was good, etc? Would you still object? Is it any different to that chap who played Mini Me in the Austin Powers films? We found him amusing because of his dwarfism. Is that wrong?

So you would be offened by the presence of the fella that played Mini Me, in the Austin Powers films?
Even though acting has brought him a lifestyle that he would not have otherwise had?
