Quips are off-handed, brief remarks, mostly pertaining to current events and developments. Maybe you have some that you care to make. I will start off with the following:

- pertaining to the recent event involving the man with [obviously] liquid & powder explosives, which he had sewn to his underwear, that he attempted to detonate and cause the aircraft to crash; first we had a "shoe bomber" in
2006 and now we have an "underwear Bomber". What's next?

- the above incident occurred on the same Delta Airlines aircraft flight number 253. Then, the following day, the very same aircraft experienced an incident wherein a man spent a lot of time in the restroom, wouldn't come out when asked, then paced up and down the aisle gesturing and saying things in a loud voice;
do you think it is a good idea to consider the number 253 as NOT LUCKY for any use, at least in fairly present and closely future times?
Anyhow, they later said they found out this man had food poisoning. Do you suppose he "chickened out" and swallowed all the powder and liquids? Or maybe he thought he could blow something up that way?

Chris Matthews of MSNBC said the other evening: "politicans that change party affiliation in mid term are alikened to crewmen on the Titanic, when it was sinking, that stowed away in the life boats dressed in women's clothing"... Razz

the only ones that typically win and come out ahead in court cases are the attorneys.

Yeah, it's one of those SAD facts of life that we cannot live with nor without them!!! Exasperating... It is like someone asking you which foot you would care to be shot in, the answer being no, of course. However, with the manner in whoich the court system is constructed; no chouce!

I believe that we have a really great legal system, only problem is that there are some that would make a mockery of it by allowing the guilty to go free while at times the innocent are punished instead. And the only ones that can and do that are the lawyers and judges that are as bad or worse than those that commited the crime.

I'll second that commotion! Such as the case of the Florida man, who, if I recall correctly was incarcerated for some 38 years for a rape charge; afrcian american man. Turns out that DNA science has erecently proven him innocent. Imagine: the amount of taxpayer dollars to hold this man in jail, prosecute him, send him to prison where he was clothed, housed, medical care and so on, all paid by the taxpayers. Then it is found that he is innocent of said crime. Now, he will be paid some one and three-quarter million dollars restitution for false imprisonment. I don't begrudge this of this man as more than twenty-five percent of his life was taken from him while in prison. Especially all of his youth and real productive years.
It seems obvious that this strongly suggest that our court system and the attorneys be clsoely scrutinized and some serious overhaul of the system be accomplished. AFter all, most judges and prosecutors start off as attoneys. I really think they are over-rated anyhow. The only real advantage of an attorney, and that they have, is that a judge would rather listen to an attorney representing the individual, rather than the individual. Because it is all just a budy-buddy like contrived system anyhow.

There's a lot of stalling, intnetional delay regarding the HEalth Insurance issue by 'our government'... it seems there are some that devise to do so in order to allow their handler's time to raise their rates for premimums.
As well, how many have noticed the spate of increases in the interst rates on their credit cards and other loans since the banks were loaned OUR MONEY? There was in olden times a practice termed "highway robbery" wherein bandits ambushed travelers along roadsides and took their money and other possesions. Today, these same cut of individuals just casually do it, by proxy, on a sheet of paper left in your mail-box.
Funny [choke] I heard State Farm is raising their premium rates due to 'projected future loses'. Isn't that just so precious an innovative on their part? Charging sutomers more [all] based on having to pay off some anticipated claims [IN THE FUTURE]. SO what are we supposed to do, just shove our money out into the street; pay them premium money and plan to NEVER make a claim on our policy? Hey, who's guarding the gate to the Sheeple Pen? Rolling Eyes Shocked Mad
