GLOBAL WARMING & THE POLES SHIFTING

Has anyone actually read what the so called G8 has decided to do. They are going to put a cap on global warming and stop it. These have to be the biggest idiots ever. Global warming is a natural occuring thing that has happened many times before and will happen again and again, no matter what those idiots say.

Maybe they will stop the poles from shifting again to. It is already in the process of reversing the north and south poles. When it reaches a certain point we will lose our magnetic fields and shields and the earth will be bathed in the deadly sun's rays and just bout all of the plant life as well as all other life including us will be dead. And yes it to has happened many times before. As always some will survive, but what and who, well that is the question. I am sure that the politicians will survive as they will head for the bunkers in Virginia or go to cheyene mountain. And if you don't think that they don't know about these things, you had better think again. And you know what the worst news is, it looks like we will always be stuck with those " politicians".

It probably won't be fun when the poles reverse, but homo erectus was around for the last one, and other homo species for the few before it. It didn't seem to bother them all too much. They didn't even have sunscreen.

Well it is not a question of IF here, it is just a question of when. Just like Yellowstone and how big and how bad. There is no doubt here. It will happen.

the magnetic poles are shifting, and in time the north pole will be where the south pole is and the same for the south pole becoming the new north pole. as you can see below. Question is at what point do we lose our magnetic shield.

The accompanying figure shows the path of the North Magnetic Pole since its discovery in 1831 to the last observed position in 2001. During the last century the Pole has moved a remarkable 1100 km. What is more, since about 1970 the NMP has accelerated and is now moving at more than 40 km per year. If the NMP maintains its present speed and direction it will reach Siberia in about 50 years. Such an extrapolation is, however, tenuous. It is quite possible that the Pole will veer from its present course, and it is also possible that the pole will slow down sometime in the next half century.

Poles and Directions
True Geographic Pole
Either of two points of intersection of the surface of the Earth with the Earth's axis of rotation. The location of this pole moves approximately 10m a year and is recalculated each year. The true south geographic pole is located near Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station. Here there are many markers representing the movement of the true geographic pole. The distance between the south geographic pole and the south magnetic pole is approximately 2,858 kilometres. The geographic pole is also sometimes referred to as the geodetic pole.

South Magnetic Pole
Is the point on the Earth's surface where the direction of the Earth's magnetic field is vertically upwards. The magnetic dip, the angle between the horizontal plane and the Earth's magnetic field lines, is 90° at the magnetic poles. The south magnetic pole is not fixed and its position moves about 5 kilometres a year presently in a north to northwesterly direction.
