Re: The Lost Tribe of Israel
The L.D.S. [Mormons] believe that the "Lost Tribe" is in Central/South America. Much of their work has been to get the word to these people so that the circumstance that satifies the 'end of time' occurence will be accomplished.
Somehow, it seems, without my being indoctrinated into the intricacies of this religion, they seemed to be a sort of hybridized Christian/Jewish religion, with a good helping of Joseph Smith thrown in.
I was told this by some Mormons that were attempting to convert me to their faith [regarding the 'lost tribe']. They have interesting practices and habits, but not for me. It wasn't indicated to me by this particular sect that they either desired or encouraged pologamy.
I did like some of their practices, such as helping each other and having store-houses. But there seemed to be a tendency to snoop and interfere in one another's [other families, individuals] lives.
This is not intended as a critical remark, just an observation and expression of what I came to feel, personally.

Re: The Lost Tribe of Israel
Old Timer and I were talking about this the other day, he has a thread related to it in the CT Zone. Gypsys(Roma) sparked the discussion and the possibility they could be a lost tribe of Israel, people all over the world claim to be a lost tribe of Israel.
