Matt Cassel, who stepped in at quarterback for New England after star Tom Brady was hurt in the season opener, was traded by the Patriots to Kansas City on Saturday.

The National Football League deal saw Cassel and linebacker Mike Vrabel sent to the Chiefs for Kansas City's second-round pick, 34th overall, in April's NFL Draft.
