That is true enough but there are times when or reasons unknown two people just seem to rub each other the wrong way for no reason taht can be exlained.

Well, sure, that is true.

Perhaps it is not possible for us to all live life like an episode of the Waltons, lol.

Indeed, it might be damn boring if we did.

But there is a huge leap between just not really hitting it off, and taking life, be that on an individual basis, or by the state, in the form of conflicts.

Ahh, but even the elephants and dogs that didn't care for each others company. They just gave each their space and didn't harrass the others. A bark hello, and... what ever it is you call the noise elephants make.. may not of been hello, might of been screw off, but they exchanged their howdies and carried on with their life.

The biggest thing I have seen change in my short 52 years is that people no longer have respect for others. The is no respect in general for the elderly (at least here in the US), no respect for police man, or for that matter all people in general. You use to allow people to have their own beliefs, now we ridicule them if they do and to some degree threaten their lives.

I have never seen so much foul language when it comes to politics. My God, how does anything ever get acomplished if one party gets in and the other works against them for 4 to 8 years? Then to cause so much hatred toward each other. I wish I was a elephant!

I agree to a point.

Yet we are told that respect is something that should be earned, never automatic.

Do those that you mention merit it?

The Hognosed snake is a peculiar reptile; if menanced it will roll over on its back and become stiffened into a sort of curved shaped. They also excude a foul odod. As well, I' understand that they are venomous to an extent; not as deadly as other vipers - also not "pits" which are heat seeking sensory openings above the nostrils. The fangs are rather small and are at the back of the mouth and are not hinged as in the other venmous snakes, with exeption of the Coral-Snake, which is related to the Cobra family.
If a Coral snake bites one, they have about three minuts to live. Then, they die because their lungs become paralyzed and they can no longer respirate.

Yup, a hognose won't kill you, (unless you happen to have an alergic reaction to the venom) but they'll make you pretty sick for awhile.

I grew up with all three, Water Moccasins, Copper heads and Rattlers in southern Missouri as well as scorpions and several venomous spiders like the black widow.
